Rookie Mistake

Rookie Mistake Opportunity to learn:

So, I kept contemplating about the new hardware and I just didn't like it. I started to some research last night on some other AS projects out there with similar 80's furniture. What I learned is that you can paint right over the hardware and distress it to make it look amazing. You don't have to go spend $50 on new hardware to give it a semi - updated look. That being said, I woke this morning and put back on my old hardware. Now, the question is to paint or not to paint (the hardware).

Up close and Personal

Final look...
Let me know what yall think!

  1. Kate I saw this dresser just like urs in an antique catalogue. They painted the hardware a coral color and it looked pretty cool. I am sure that might be a little wild for what u were planning but what about a fun color like turquoise? Jennifer Rieck

  3. I love the dresser! I say paint the hardware - the gray undertones of the dresser and the gold hardware seem to be competing. Maybe just oil-rubbed bronze? But I like the idea of a fun color, too! :)
