Mistake Opportunity to learn:
So, I kept contemplating about the new hardware and I just didn't like it. I started to some research last night on some other AS projects out there with similar 80's furniture. What I learned is that you can paint right over the hardware and distress it to make it look amazing. You don't have to go spend $50 on new hardware to give it a semi - updated look. That being said, I woke this morning and put back on my old hardware. Now, the question is to paint or not to paint
(the hardware).

Let me know what yall think!
Kate I saw this dresser just like urs in an antique catalogue. They painted the hardware a coral color and it looked pretty cool. I am sure that might be a little wild for what u were planning but what about a fun color like turquoise? Jennifer Rieck
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! I'm going to wait a little bit to decide what I am going to do! Will update blog when I figure it out!
DeleteLooks really good Kate , get that new business going , your a natural !!
ReplyDeleteI love the dresser! I say paint the hardware - the gray undertones of the dresser and the gold hardware seem to be competing. Maybe just oil-rubbed bronze? But I like the idea of a fun color, too! :)
ReplyDeleteI love all of your comments! I can't wait to get the final look! Stay tuned!
ReplyDeleteI think paint the hardware. The dresser looks great!
