Size Matters....

I tackled my BIGGEST project yet.. our TV hutch in our bedroom. It matched the side table that I did last week. I knew this was going to be a big project but not this BIG. It took me 2 full days of painting and waxing. I used Duck Egg for the color and the clear and dark wax to distress it. I'm very excited how it turned out. My bedroom is starting to take form.. It's only taken 16 months... :)

I decided to keep the hardware on and just paint over it. I think it looks good. I don't feel like I need to add new hardware.

I hope you enjoy the pictures...

My quote from today:  "I will never paint something this big again UNLESS I am making money doing it!" HA! so if you are interested in me painting something for you, remember size matters! Let me know what you think! Good night!

Table talk

My sister has this table in her living room that was just a little too dark... She saw what changes were going on 2 doors down and begged asked me to redo her table... With a little arm twisting, we came to a dollar amount that I was okay with... One million dollars! Haha! Not really but I did make ask her to help paint and with that I put her in charge of all of those deep crevices. They were a pain challenge.

The table isn't done but I just wanted to share with y'all a preview! I can already tell it is going to be amazing and the wax isn't even on it. Finished pics to come!

Decided that JUST the top painted wasn't enough

Almost Done!

Chalk Paint!

Rookie Mistake

Rookie Mistake Opportunity to learn:

So, I kept contemplating about the new hardware and I just didn't like it. I started to some research last night on some other AS projects out there with similar 80's furniture. What I learned is that you can paint right over the hardware and distress it to make it look amazing. You don't have to go spend $50 on new hardware to give it a semi - updated look. That being said, I woke this morning and put back on my old hardware. Now, the question is to paint or not to paint (the hardware).

Up close and Personal

Final look...
Let me know what yall think!
